Reading on the Plane

I’m off to Jakarta for the Media Development Loan Fund‘s Media Forum; it should be interesting and fun, both talking about sustainable models for independent journalism as well as catching up with friends like Kevin Anderson, Ross Settles and Jeremy Wagstaff and many, many more.  And drinking. Mostly drinking.

And on the plane – 20+ hours and two stops! – I’ll be reading a new report by Columbia University’s Tow Center for Digital Journalism on “post-industrial” journalism.   It’s by C.W. Anderson, Emily Bell and Clay Shirky.  I’ve only just started it, but it looks to be a fascinating read that clearly and simply lays out the new landscape of journalism.

Should be lots to write about.  Once the drink (and jetlag) wears off.
