Off to Raleigh, North Carolina, tomorrow for the annual Computer-Assisted Reporting conference run by Investigative Reporters and Editors. They’re nice people and helpful – sign up for a membership!
It’ll be a chance to catch up with people, see what’s happening elsewhere in the field, and talk up whorunshk – there’s a session on social network analysis, and I’ll be making a short presentation.
Should have a lot to write about after three days of CAR geekdom. And drinks. I’m looking forward to it.
Don’t get drunk and miss the flight back. And say hi to Jonathan Stray for me 🙂

Thank you for representing as the only Asian speaker at the conference! Your session was definitely memorable and the application used for “who runs HK” can be used in any other newsrooms in the world( if they have the resource to collect information).
